Our subsidiary company Trax Limited (now a division of Splice Construction) regularly undertakes work for the New Zealand Department of Conservation (DOC), mostly in rural locations with limited access, such as the famous Tongariro Crossing in National Park.

At the Tongariro Crossing, we built tracks, boardwalks, drainage, stairs and footbridges - spanning creeks and gullies - using building materials such as timber, geotextile, drain coil and drainage metal.

This kind of work requires a very high level of organisation and, in some cases, even a need to create access. A lot of the time, we built bridges off-site and air-lifted the structures into place.
